†   What kind of a church is Maranatha?
  • Maranatha is an old-fashioned fundamental Baptist church which means basically that we believe that the Bible is God's Word and that it is to be obeyed in every aspect of life.
†   What kind of people go to Maranatha?
  1. We rejoice at Maranatha that the Lord has blessed us with such a diverse congregation. We like to say that we are multi-generational, multi-cultural, and multi-racial. We have a common bond in our Lord and our desire to worship and learn about Him.
  2. The people at Maranatha love people and work very hard to make everyone feel welcome. We realize that Pennsylvania Dutch territory is sometimes characterized as cold. We want to make sure that people feel the warmth of His love when they come amoung us.
†   What can I expect when I arrive at Maranatha?
  • As you drive up the driveway, there are parking places right in front for visitors and for the handicapped. Please use one of these. We want our guests to have the best spots.
†   What happens when I come in the front door?
  • Inside you will meet a team of Greeters whose desire is to help you in anyway possible. They can show you where everything is, explain how everything works, and even give you a tour if you would like. They just love helping people.
†   What is Sunday Bible School like?
  • Sunday Bible School is our Bible teaching time. The children in our modular building just behind the main church building. The teens are in our GLEAM ministry building. The adults are in the auditorium. Adults will usually have at least two classes to choose from. Interaction in class is encouraged. You can ask any question you have. A fellowship time precedes the start of the Adult classes with goodies to munch on.   :)
†   What is a worship service like at Maranatha?
  1. We Baptists love to sing, so there is much music in our services. We use the Hymnal and occasional inserts in the bulletin. We want everyone to be able to see the words and the music. We encourage those who can to sing the parts. We have a piano, an organ, and several other instruments that accompany the singing. You might say we have a mini-orchestra.
  2. We also love God's Word, the Bible, and the expository preaching of it is the central part of the service. Expository preaching is going verse by verse through a book of the Bible learning and applying the truths contained in it. Messages are typically 45 minutes long. Copies of the messages are available on CD immediately after every service.
  3. We also like to use the services to observe the Lord's Supper, Baptism, Missionary Speakers, Scripture Reading and Memorization. We have a nursery available for every service and Children's Church in the Morning Worship Service.
†   What should I wear?
  • The folks at Maranatha seek to honor the Lord with what they wear. For some that is their best T-shirt and blue jeans, and for others that is a suit or Sunday dress. Quite frankly we are more concerned about what is on the inside that what is on the outside.
†   What should I bring?
  • Just you is enough! But a sermon outline is included in the bulletin and people like to take notes on it, so maybe you would like to bring a pen or pencil (or we can give you one). You might also like to bring your Bible, although there is one in every pew that you are welcome to use. In fact if you do not have a Bible, we would be happy to give you one.
†   What happens after the service?
  • You will find that Maranatha people enjoy each other, and stay and fellowship for quite a long time afterward. We would love it if you would let us get to know you. Also if you would like to speak with one of our pastors or deacons, they are all available after the service to help you in any way they can. Of course the thing that we truely want to have happen after the service is that you decide to come back and worship with us again, hopefully on a regular basis.

JUST A THOUGHT...
Maybe we did not include the question you wanted answered. Give us a call before you come. Our Pastors love to tell people about Maranatha. You can ask anything you like, and they will seek to give you an answer. Some people have even come by during the week and received a quick tour. We are here to serve, and would be happy to help you.
